Tour Plan
Day 01: Arrive in Luxor
No matter what time you arrive, your 2 day trip to Luxor will start with you being met by one of our tour managers. You will then be driven to the luxurious Sonesta St.George Hotel where you will be spending the night.
Our tour manager will help you to check in, and then he will go over the itinerary with you in order to confirm the pick up times. You’ll be offered a free “Welcome” drink, and the remainder of the day can be enjoyed as you wish.
A complimentary dinner will be served at your hotel, so do keep this in mind if you decide to head out.
Day 02: Tour of Luxor
After breakfast your guide, along with your driver will be there to pick you up and take you to visit the West Bank where you will see the marvelous Valley of the Kings, a remarkable site where the burial of many kings took place. You can also enter the tomb of King Tutankhamen but you will need to purchase a separate ticket at the site. Also, it is worth noting that there are times when the tomb is closed to the public.
After the Valley of Kings, you will pay a visit to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This temple was built by the Queen herself who was the daughter of Thutmosis I, the ruler of Egypt for nearly 20 years at the time of the 18th Dynasty (1490-1469 BC). Queen Hatshepsut was the only indigenous woman to rule ancient Egypt. On your journey, you will also be taken past the Colossi of Memnon where you can the remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.
From here, you will go to Luxor’s East Bank; have lunch in a good local restaurant, and then it is off to visit the Karnak Temples. This is the greatest historical example of worship, and it was dedicated to the god Amon, his wife Mut, as well as their son Khonsu.
This marks the end of your 2 day trip to Luxor, and you’ll be driven to Luxor Airport for your departure unless you have other travel plans.
